1 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart;

before the “gods” I will sing your praise.

2 I will bow down toward your holy temple
and will praise your name
for your love and your faithfulness,

    Today’s Psalm is a good follow up to yesterdays! Psalm 102 shares a feeling of desperation. It ends with hope. Today’s Psalm is full of praise and celebration!

    Today, I was struck by the opening phrase….

    I will praise you…. before the gods….

    that part about “the gods” really jumped out at me.

    There are other gods… Powers. Principalities. Spiritual beings advancing an agenda or protecting a stronghold. We should not be ignorant of these.

    If we praise our ‘BIG G’ God before the ‘little g’ gods… then we are keeping things in right order!

    Something to think about: It would be hard to have an accidental idol if you were telling that other power in your life about how God is over all! When you praise our GREAT GOD in the presence of these little ‘gods’, you quite naturally remind yourself of your priorities : )
